Church building committees
are always planning so that the steps they take today lead towards
where they want to be in the future. Part of that process is to
get a list of budget lines up and posted. Unfortunately, there is
no budget allocated to the generation of budget lines for church
acoustics. That's where ASC can help take the guesswork out of budgeting
for your church.
People
always say that they don’t know if they can afford an acoustic
project because they don’t know what one costs. So, as hard
as it is, the best thing to do here is to just talk about money.
Acoustic projects for churches cost in the thousands of dollars,
not hundreds. A small project will be around $1,000. A typical project
will be in the $3-5K range. A fairly large project will run $10-15K
and a big project will cost $25-50K. This is just for the acoustic
package. Converting a big room that sounds like an empty gym into
one that sounds like a church will cost about 20-30 cents per cubic
foot. (L x W x H).
Practical, and Spiritual Enrichment
The key
point that everyone involved with the purchase of church acoustics
should understand is this: The best A/V equipment and the best sound
technician and the best worship leader can not overcome bad church
acoustics. ASC will work with your budget committee to take care
of the acoustics and do it right the first time.
So far, we've given you the facts. But there's an important spritual
side to a good church acoustic, as the heart is moved by a clearly
heard sermon, or music that sounds soaring and uplifting. This emotional
side should be incorporated into the acoustic budget because when
it comes to a good sounding church, hearing is believing.
